Backup exec 10 - Why install the "Advanced Open File Option" on a pc which has files which need backing up

I file servers in my firm currently have the Backup Exec Remote Agent installed.
What are the benfits of installing the "Advanced Open File Option"?

First of all, to use the Advanced Open File Option, you need to have a license loaded on the main Backup Exec server.

In my opinion you should only install the AOFO component on a Windows 2000 server or Windows 2000 Professional.
On Windows 2003 or Windows XP, do not install AOFO. Backup Exec will then still be able to use the OS Volume Shadow Copy component to back up open files.

The advantages of not installing AOFO on 2003 or XP are:
* the AOFO component installs a vsp.sys filter driver which can conflict with certain other software. This could lead to instability of the server.
* if you install the AOFO component, any update to the Remote Agent will require a reboot. If you don't install the AOFO component on a remote server, the update of the remote agent will not require a reboot.
