Experts! I need help.

I have a Cisco 7200VXR running in our environment and when I do a "sh ver", it tells me that I'm "running default software". This tells me that it's not properly loading the IOS image that I want it to use. The IOS that I want it to use is stored on a flash disk which is seated in slot0 of the router. When I do a "sh disk0", it shows the correct IOS file. To try and load this IOS, I've tried using the following commands under global config mode:
-boot system flash disk0:c7200-is-mz.122-46a.bin
-boot system disk0:c7200-is-mz.122-46a.bin
-boot system flash:c7200-is-mz.122-46a.bin

I've tried each of the above commands individually. None of them works. Anyone know what the problem might be?

I pasted my "sh ver" below.

Looks like it is running the correct version to me.

Then why does it state that it is "running default software"?

Not sure unless that means that it is running the first image found on the flash, which is default behavior. If there is only one image there, that's the one it will run without putting anything in the config to tell it which image to use.

I believe when it states it's running default software that it is running this:

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.0(19990210:195103) [12.0XE 105], DEVELOP
OFTWARE
BOOTLDR: 7200 Software (C7200-BOOT-M), Version 12.0(10)S, EARLY DEPLOYMENT
SE SOFTWARE (fc1)

which it found in ROM. I looked this problem up on Cisco's site and they acknowledge that it's a bug. But their solution was to use the "boot system" global command. Not really much help there........

Makes sense, but the bottom line is that it is running the correct IOS version.
