Can't connect to Logical Disk Manager?

Hi Folks,

In an attempt to access disk management (Schijfbeheer) I bump into a 'Cannot connnect to Logical Disk Manager'error stating that the RPC service is unavailable. I have 1 internal harddisk and 1 external harddisk btw. The first is 80 GIG and the second app. 500.

Now I checked the services and they are running including the dependencies. I do have some services set to manual, but that wouldnt cause this problem I think.

Anyone any idea?

Kind regards,

In addition I just found a few other peculiarities >

I cannot analyze or defragment anything. Pressing the button presses the button but that it. Also > using a vbs script to defragment all disks doesn't work anymore. My installation of Winbloze is new. In my old installation I did not have these problems.

Correction: in that old install I did have some probs with the script, but those were solved after I installed script56. Now I just installed it but no analyzing of defragemnting can be done.....

Okay thanks I will check it out. I did not search prior to posting because I got a lil fed up with it.

Solved! enabling the DCOM Server Launcher resolves this issue. That is changin its startup mode to automatic instead of manual.

Thanks,
