Crystal Reports XI Different Date Parameter Format

It's probably foolish of me to even ask this, but does anyone know if it's possible to change the format of dates entered in as date parameters? The default as suggested by the prompt is yyyy-mm-dd. My users want to enter it mm/dd/yyyy. I could make it a string parameter, then convert it, but then I'd lose the calendar control.

Running CR XI (not yet R2, but possible) in a Windows environment. The report parameters are displayed via the viewer interfaced with C#.

Thanks in advance! =)

I thought that I had read that somewhere on the Business Objects site, but was hoping there was a fix for it. I guess it's another one of those "by design" things.
