I have quite a number of local packages in Data Transformation Services for SQL Server 2000.
How can I backup  and restore the packages?

DTS -info is stored in the MSDB-database so the backup of that database contains the packages

That's a whole other question, you want to get your packages on another server .I remember you can save a DTS package as VBS-project. But I didn't ever tried to 'export' the whole bunch at once

restore Msgb
Your backup-info is stored in the msdb-db also so it could block itself. Your backup-info will be lost too!

'Backup and restore' as I earlier mentiont is of th MSDB-db. But there are also other things kept so know what you are doing! Because MSDB-db holds also information about backups it's not so weird getting a message 'database in use'. Problem also treated in earlier mentioned link.

If you look for a pure DTS-approach there is some tool like a DTSBAckup
