I would like to know if this coder is good or bad. I am doing project with the coder who is working on my project but I have no way to know if he is good coder or rather (bad) not OO programmer....

Well, I would like to have few opinions on how everybody thinks.

I am attaching zip file with some of php files that he has done.

Thank you

    Accepted Solution

It's classic stuff - he knows his PHP. Could be better - he has not separated the templates (HTML) and the code (PHP), so the code looks untidy. Uses objects, though the code is far from clean OO. Maybe just a lack of experience or he hurried the code because of a deadline...

All in all, I would say an average coder.

    Assisted Solution

As was said before - the code is not separated. More than this - code is linked to GUI directly. The reason of this can be only in 2 situations:
    1. Developer is very talanted, and he know that the bandwidth to the website will be very big. So, due to usability of the code he don't use template engines. Also, in this way speed of the site working increases.
    2. He is fully novice and even don't know how to maintain the code. Because here there are no OOP at all. There are no objects. Only poor style of development (90's years, like Pascal was).

Will say it once more. The decision to code like this must be made only in situation, if the project is critical in performance, otherwise it is looked like young student work.
