Remove 1 item from the drop down list in  the address bar in Internet Explorer?

Is there a way to remove 1 item from the drop down list in  the address bar in Internet Explorer?  My boss uses them fairly often but he needs 1 removed.  I can remove all of them, but that is not what he wants.  Any suggestions?
