Blackberry Ring Tone

Hi All,

I have a client that's just been given a Blackberry Pearl.

They have just reported that whenever someone calls the device, the ring tone starts off very quiet, then gets louder. I'm assuming the ringer is set to 'ascending'.

I don't have a Blackberry to hand, and can't find it in the manual. Could someone let me know how to change it from assenting to something more convenient?

Many Thanks,

You can probably find a profiles icon on the home screen. From the menu, go to the bootom and select "advanced". I think it should be there.

From the home screen, click on Profiles (device icon), then scroll down to select "Advanced...". Select the active Profile (probably Normal), then scroll down and select "Phone".   You have two settings for the ringer there, Out of Holster and In Holster.  Look in each section and change the Volume setting from "Escalating" to something else (Low or Medium is plenty loud for most people).  Then exit the screen, making sure to select "Save" to retain the new settings.
