MSIE Inappropriate Control Block

MS Internet Explorer keeps putting annoying popups at me.  Pop ups ask me:

"This page contains both secure and non-secure items.  Do you want to display the non-secure items."

I'm HIGHLY annoyed at this message popping  at every new page..

I tried to kill this message going to: <Tools> <Internet Options> <Security Tab> , then lowering the security level.

When I try to lower the security bar I get another Error message.

The recommended level for this zone is "Medium"
The level you have chosen is lower than this.  Please choose a security level higher of "Medium" or higher.

1.  How do I set the security level to the level I want?
2.  Who the hell thinks they can tell me I can't set secuity levels as I choose?

LOL...time to take a little break and let some stress out - it's only a machine and a few solid hits with a baseball bat will fix those annoying pop up messages!  OK, so you probably don't want to lay into your PC with a bat, so let's get the issue resolved...

Open up IE, go to Tools, Options, Security.  Under security, set yourself back to Medium, then click on Custom Level.  Look for "Allow Mixed Content" and change it from "Prompt" to "Enable".  That should take care of your notification windows popping up.

As for the message that you can't change your security setting level, this could be caused by a number of different things such as a domain group policy (if your PC is part of a domain) or your account needing more permissions if it's not a local administrator.  Let me know if the change I mentioned either doesn't work or you can't set it and get an error (let me know the error as well).

Baseball bat solution worked well and also provided the stress relief needed.

No more popup screens.
