get rid of trailing slash on tomcat URL

I have just successfully connected apache and tomcat. One minor detail. For non-jsp regular ole html files and can specify:

http://www.myDomain.com/appdir
or
http://www.myDomain.com/appdir/

and it will run index.html in that directory. For tomcat, I can only specify: http://www.myDomain.com/jspappdir/
I can't leave off the trailing slash. How to I do this? In my httpd.conf I have:
JkMount  /ohprs/* worker1
do I modify this? Add another line? (apache 1.3.33. tomcat 6.0.14, linux slackware 2.4.29)

most likely you need to add another line

http://raibledesigns.com/rd/entry/setting_up_cvs_appfuse_jspwiki

--- estract from the above link:
    # JSPWiki - the 2nd line eliminates the need for a
    # trailing slash on the URL
    JkMount /wiki/* ajp13
    JkMount /wiki ajp13

Some other links that has similar examples:

http://www.howtoforge.com/apache2_tomcat5_mod_jk_integration

cheers.
