why use <asp:hyperlink?

ive no doubt im asking a stupid question but i'l ask it anyway.

im just getting into .net 2.0 and am wondering........why use an <asp:hyperlink over a conventional <a href="............

can someone tell me?

    With control, you can have control like dynamically changing the href in code.
