The Citrix servers reported that the alternate address cannot be found.  This was reported from the XML Service at address "http://hq-connect:8080 [com.citrix.xml.NFuseProtocol.RequestAddress]".   [Log ID: 88b7c35f]

    Things to check:

Licensing (both Terminal Services and Citrix Licensing - check for errors in the event logs.)

Citrix XML Service visible and running on the Citrix server...

I asume you've enabled port 1494 for citrix traffic, and port 80 for web interface traffic, running through your firewall's public ip to the citrix server. Whether residing on the DMZ, or the local LAN.

I assume you have run the altaddr command on the citrix server, to tell the server to respond with it's public address, if needed.
    In cmd run: altaddr /set
(remember to reboot server for settings to take effect)

On the firewall, make sure the following rules are open:
(I am asuming the citrix/web interface is in the DMZ)
allow port 1494 wan to DMZ inbound, and high ports (1023 - 5000) outbound
allow port 80 wan to DMZ in and outbound

On the web interface server either configure the alternative address use in the admin page, or modify the webinterface.conf...

I don't have the Citrix XML server listed in my services.

I get two error's,    The resource you requested is no longer available from the servers or the specified user no longer has access to it.

Hope to see your reply soon. Thanks.

    Accepted Solution

To fix the XML ERROR and make Citrix XML service appear in services:

    1. Use the Services Control Panel to stop the Citrix XML Service.

    2. At the command prompt, type ctxxmlss /u to unload the Citrix XML Service from memory.

    3. Type ctxxmlss /r8080. This forces the Citrix XML Service to use TCP/IP port 8080.

    4. Restart the Citrix XML Service in the Control Panel.

After restart, open the Management Console for MetaFrame Presentation Server, go to your servers Properties > MetaFrame Settings, and verify that the specified port is seen in the TCP/IP port of the Citrix XML Service section.

Also I found out install the newest version of Trend Micro Officescan 8.0 completely kills the farm.  Goto the cmd prompt and type qfarm, if your farm is not listed you must recreate the farm.  To recreate the farm type the following at comand prompt:  dsmaint recreatelhc
