Hi,

I'm using Ghost 12, and here is what I want to do. I have a sv2i file, and a v2i file, of my hard drive I backed up. I want to take this backup I have and put it on a new blank hard drive. Thus I'll need to boot from DVD, but I don't see how to do that with Ghost 12.

My v2i file is about 4.2 GB so I think it will fit on a DVD fine, but it also resides on my file server, so I could point the boot CD to that as well.

Please only respond if you have specific knowledge with Ghost 12 and know how to make this work.

Thanks in advance.

If you purchased a retail boxed version of Ghost 12, then you set your bios to boot from CD.  Your Ghost 12 install CD is also the Recovery CD.  Boot from the Ghost 12 CD.  Point to your recovery point (backup in Ghost 12 terms) which can be on dvd, usb hard drive, or network etc. and select the recovery point to restore.

The boot cd is separate from your backup image (recovery point).
