Massive WinSxs Folder (6+ gigs)

I've been havin space issues on my Windows Vista x64 Ulitmate development box and ran into the folder "winsxs". I've seen a number of reports of people with 3 and 4 gig folders but mine is now approaching 7 gigs.

This was a fresh install of Vista and is only a few months old. I can't find a single help thread that helps me clean up this folder or pair it down. I understand what it does (kinda cool) but I should still be able to get rid of some of this...

Thanks

Is it due to a smal OS partition ?
Does the drive itself have sufficient space ?
have you moved the paging and temp folders elsewhere ?

I hope this helps !

My OS Drive is 20 gigs and I now only have 5 gigs left after some serious cleaning up. I have almost zero apps installed to the C Drive. So while I have room left... The point is this folder should not be approaching 7 gigs size, pushing my Windows OS FOlder to 13.5 gigs...

I have no paging files or the like on the C Drive...

A reinstall may help, but there does not appear to be an easy way to clean this up.

Another solution may be to increase the OS partition size, especially if you do development.

Great so another typical MS OS... every 8 months or so just do a fresh install of the operating system to fix all the things that slowly die a little bit more every day! If I'm using this much hard drive space today, what on earth can I look forward to in 4+ more moths....
