How to turn of the mouse touchpad on a Toshiba Satellite M115-S3144?

My manual doesn't cover this problem. And I waited on the phone with toshiba for 45 minutes before giving up. I was hoping someone could tell me how to turn off the touchpad on a Toshiba Satellite M115-S3144. I tried to go to Control Panel>Printers and Hardware>Mouse>Hardware tab and selected the mouse but it doesn't give me the option to disable it. Any help would be great.

It seems to me that you can use Fn+F9 to disable it if you're running Windows. It's been a while since I've used a Toshiba though, so I could be wrong.

You can probably disable the trackpad in the BIOS, you usually have to hit DEL, F10 or something along those lines at the beginning of bootup when the Toshiba splash screen comes up to get to the BIOS. There also may be software or a service that runs for the TrackPad while in Windows, if you disable that service it will probably do the trick. If you have a TrackPad icon in your system tray (down by the clock on the right hand side of the system bar) you can right click it and close it or check the properties. If you can figure out what the service is for the trackpad you can also run MSCONFIG (Start-->Run-->MSCONFIG) and disable it from the startup tab.

Sorry I can't be more specific, I haven't worked on a Toshiba notebook in ages.

You have to download first the touchpad drivers and install it:

After installing, go back to the control panel. You should now have the option to disable it.

If the above don't work, try the Synaptics driver - it's good for most on the market:
