Can Windows Mobile 6 Pro use a Cisco VPN?

Does anyone know if the VPN client built into Windows Mobile 6 Professional can connect to a Cisco VPN? I'm just wondering before I upgrade my phone OS.

I dont think it will connect to the IPSEC VPN that Cisco support. At least when I tried on an IPAQ it did not work but that could always have been a network issue.

However the PIX/ASA firewall does support the PPTP type of VPN and that worked fine.

I guess what I meant was if the built-in VPN client works for IPSec VPNs....

It does but you need to configure it properly  (certs and shared keys)

Can you confirm this? Our ASA uses a preshared key and then AAA users. I have set it up on WM 5 before and it didn't work. I read many places that the WM 5 built-in VPN never works correctly.

you asked about 6.0 though...

I did. I just want to know if the built-in client in WM6 works correctly. I was simply citing my problems with WM5 and explaining our authentication method. Have you used WM6?

Yup for a while now.

Cool. So the integrated VPN client does work for sure?

Well.... My vpn settings are quite simple.

okay.... all I'm asking is "Does It Work?"

WM5 does not work.

I use IPSec with a PSK. that's all.

Thank you by the way.

Will do once the WM6 update comes out for my AT&T Treo 750!

They were supposed to have that out by the end of March! Slow buggers!

Hi everyone - just keeping you posted -- it doesn't work...

You have to have a 3rd party VPN client... no support for group authentication in WM6.

I wish Cisco would just make one... it's long overdue.
