Hi Bnusir,

There is several things you can try....

1.  try to stop/start the avserver service on the parent server for that group. then see if you can unlock the group

2. In the SSC try this:  Tools, Discovery Service, Clear Cache now
This will clear the SSC cache and rediscover all currently existing groups.

3.  Walk through this article....
http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/docid/2005082415100448?Open&src=w

Each time the server group is unlocked, a certificate serial number is incremented. If this value exceeds 256, this behavior occurs.

To work around the problem, restart the computer and verify the following DWORD value on the primary server:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\LanDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\ScSComms\LocalData\LoginCaCertIssueSerialNum

If this value is greater than 256, set the value to 1. This value is increased with every server group unlock from any Symantec System Center on the network. If the environment includes multiple Symantec System Centers, this value can increase or exceed the 256 limit quickly. If the Auto-Unlock setting is enabled so that the server group opens automatically, the value increases when Symantec System Center starts.

Hope this helps....

There is a username and password required to unlock the group, is there any way to go around that?

To reset the server group admin user password
1 On the computer running the Symantec System Center, start Windows
Explorer.
2 Go to \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec System Center\Tools.
3 In the right pane, double-click the IFORGOT.exe file.
4 In the Primary server field, type the name of the server group's primary
server.
5 In the user field, type admin.
6 In the New Password and Confirm New Password fields, type the new
password.
7 Click Reset Password.
You may be prompted for a Windows user name and password if you specify
a remote server.

Hope this helps....
