Can not create a DVD using Roxio Creator 9. Don't know how troubleshoot....HELP!!!

I have no idea why I can't burn a DVD using my Dell and Roxio Media Creator 9.  I open  My DVD and add a movire (WMV File) and hit burn everything seems to do what you would expect but then it just sits there and does nothing. I am stumpted as to how to troubleshoot the darn thing. Am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I am using a Dell Latitude D820 plenty of ram and CPU ...writer is a standard Dell dvd R/W...Sony DW-Q58A.. Looking at task manager processes I am using 50% of the CPU with a process  called VideoWave9.exe.  There is no liht on the drive itself showing. To be truthfulI believe this DVD has worked before....does cd 'swith no problem. And I can copy to the disk like normal. I need to make a DVD that can be used in a normal player.....Any help would be appreciated and I am odffering max points.
