HI
I had a virus called Autorun.inf that removed the pathways to the drives.
so i found a website that fixed this problem, but i typed in the wrong userinit pathway during the process.
Now, i am unable to log into my computer and autologs off itself.

try pressing "F8" during the black screen boot up (before XP appears) and go into safe mode - see if  safe mode works
go into the administrator account and try and correct it.

You can always use the Windows XP CDROM which will let you repair your installation - this would likely overwrite the damaged configuration, and allow you to bootup.

The password should not change if you are using safe mode. Perhaps your caps lock key is on?
