We are brining exchange back in house, but the EXCHANGE domain name is not the same as the AD domain name.

Example: we have an AD domain of AZ-NET.LOCAL this has worked for file a print sharing, however now that we want to bring our currently hosted EXCHANGE environment in-house.

Is it possible to host the exchange domain in the AD forest az-net.local? I know how to point the MX records towards the IP and how to fwd traffic from the router. I am wondering if it is possible to host exchange if the domain name is not the same without installing a 2nd domain and setting up trust.

Can we get it to work in the existing forest?
