Get a mail when a user loggs in

Hi,

I want a script with which i can be informed that the user i am searching from a long time has come to office and logged in his machine.

Is there any way that i can be informed through a mail when some specific users login to any machine in the network.

Regards
Sharath

There are several ways to do this, but no simple solution.  The easiest is to move all the old users to a separate OU and put a group policy on that folder.  M$ describes the procedure here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814595

I have used this to audit user accounts in the past.  It works well, but note that the network will have more traffic if the OU that these policies are on contains many user accounts.

I cannot disturb the machines as already they are sorted for a different reason.

I am particular about getting a mail when a user loggs in.

Sharath, have you used a log in script, that I've described a couple of times before, that logs to a text file for every user that logs in?  This way, you could just check that user's text file to see when they last logged in.....

Rob.
Rob if you have it can you share the script...

So i need to use this as a logon script?

Yeah, as long as your users can write the UNC location specified, then upon logon, they'll be recording where they log on, and when....
