Ghost Multicast RIS Multiple deploy

Hi,
with Ghost Multicast or RIS, can I deploy 10 computer at the same time, or image will appear in use before second deploy?

You can definately do it with RIS, not sure about Ghost it's been ages since I last used it.  Try looking at Windows Deployment Services (WDS) for server 2003 SP2.  Microsoft have made some massive improvments over RIS (including support for vista images)

Sorry, I just noticed that you're using multicast, in which case you can definately do it.  A multicast is a one to many communication by definition.

Ok, then I will use one image sience one server for deploy multiple computers at the same time? The image file doesn't appear in use for te second, third, ... computer??

Yes you can use one server to deploy one image to multiple machines at the same time.

When multicasting, the image is sent out once to the switch, and your switch should forward it to any clients that register an interest in joining the multicast group. You won't get file locking problems because the client doesn't actually touch the file.

Have a look at http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/ppfdocs/2002101612025325 it details how clients communicate with the multicast server.  It's pretty old, but it should give you somewhere to start.
