QUOTE: "when I change a button, it seems to affect other buttons"
>>> This is because the project uses symbols
>>> A symbol which references another symbol (affects other buttons etc.) is called an INSTANCE.

-----------
-----------
ANSWER
-----------
1. You need to right click on the appropriate top level movie "container" (we have movies within other movies in the flash file, a bit like a russian doll) and select "Duplicate Symbol".

2. Look in the projects "Library" (usually you will see this as a window appearing on the right or access the Library via the "Window" menu).... then drag and drop your duplicated symbol.
    >> The duplicated symbol is unique and changes made to it will not affect other symbols.

------------
------------
NOTES
------------
    >> Duplicate the appropriate symbol or else it will contain an instance which you do not want.
    >> Duplicate the appropriate symbol by navigating to the correct depth.
    >> Navigate deeper (a movie within a movie etc....) by double clicking on the displayed movie symbol.
    >> When you have found the symbol you wish to be unique, right click and... (step 1 above)

You may wish to do a search on the help file for "Instance" and also "Symbol" to read up on this.

There is a symbol for each movie (although they are of course used as buttons) and symbols within these movies.

So have you tried my suggestion and what was the result?
>> Please give excessive detail for a faster solution. Thanks!

I have more cool tricks up my sleeve if this doesn`t meet all your requirements ;-)

Where are we up to on this? Have you tried to "Duplicate Symbol" as mentioned above?

Please give me some more detail about what you have tried and where you`re up to in the .fla project.

Thanks,
Adrian
