MFC C++ Resource FIle, What is EDITTEXT ?

I'm looking at a MFC resource file, and I see:

Is this a label or a textbox?

Is there a link that explains these files?

    EDITTEXT is an edit control. Here's a list of resources:

    Go up a couple of levels to learn more about the resource compiler.

    Usually you won't need to edit .rc files directly, if you use Visual Studio's built-in resource editors.
