COPY ERROR: extra data after last expected column

I am getting this error on one of my CSV file imports.  I have tried deleting everything from the end of the rows and columns, but to no avail.  What causes this problem?

is it a tab delimited file or a comma delimited file?

is it possible you have an extra delimiter on the line that is throwing the error?

It is a tab delimited file.  I go and clear out all data through and editor, but still get the error...

does it tell you what line of your import file is in error?

Yes, it is the very first line, which is the header line...

what is the exact command you are executing for the import?
do you have more columns in the file than you have in your query/table?

I think that I was opening it up in Excel and it was causing some problems.  Thanks for the effort here.  I figured it out...
