Here are good articles on how to recover deleted folders:

Although it does look as if you already tried these methods.  If you still can't recover it, then I'm afraid it's gone.

the pst file is about 680MB... i copy the pst to another computer to and run ultraedit...unable to use spacebar to delete the bytes... has to highlight and delete...the deleted bytes show as 00 instead of 20... any ideas? thx

Try making a backup copy to another location on your hard drive.  Then run the recovery method(s) on the original .pst.

redo everything again...this time manually change the bytes to 20... need to rename the recovered pst to the correct extension after running scanpst.
when open up the recovered pst, there is a new folder created 'Lost and found', and under it, found back the lost folder.
