Use SQL Server 2005 to Open Email, extract Excel spreadsheet, open it and Import into a Table

I have a service that provides information to me via an encrypted Excel spreadsheet through email.
Can SSIS/BI receive the file, open it, extract the attached spreadsheet and read that spreadsheet into a database table?

I think I can do it in pieces but I am wondering if everything could be handled by SSIS/BI.

Thanks in advance

Im pretty sure your going to have to take in consideration the security on the xls file, is your using ssis...I would decrypt first, turn off the security then import

I just noticed that there was not an option in Import Excel for the password.  MS does talk to each other don't they?  So is there no way to import an Excel spreadsheet that is encrypted?

    Accepted Solution

I was through another question able to find out how to decrypt and resave it.

And to extract an email from Outlook

Can I do this all within SSIS/BI.  I'm not sure how to use C# within SSIS yet.  Any ideas?
