I received the following error on our DC early this morning. I know that this acocunt has specific login times set and I know that the erroro code 0xC000006F indicates that the user was logged in outside of those hours. My question is: Would this error be generated because the user left his/her computer on overnight or does someone have to physically be sitting at the machine and attempting to logon interactively to force this error.

I've seen these errors come up when an application such as Outlook tries to access servers. It doesn't necessarily imply that the user logged in at 4:18am in the morning. If you are keen on forcing users to log off, see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/816666 (the part about 'Enforce Logon Time Restrictions Using Group Policy')
