FTP Program to downloaded certain files

I am looking for an ftp program that I can tell to download only files with certain extensions and directories.

For example:  I want to download only .html and .php files from my website.  I do not want to download any images, zip files etc.

Any recommendations on what ftp software to use?

I use Ipswitch FTP Pro to DL all my website files. I can filter out whatever files I need or do a sort on them and choose each file respectively. In the options-transfer tabe you can include or exclude any extension you choose.

tabe should be 'TAB' - sorry

Can you give me instructions how to do that?  I have it downloaded but it doesn't appear to be obvious at first look.

Free Backup Tool for VMware and Hyper-V

Restore full virtual machine or individual guest files from 19 common file systems directly from the backup file. Schedule VM backups with PowerShell scripts. Set desired time, lean back and let the script to notify you via email upon completion.

I agree with the recommendation to use WSFTP Pro by Ipswitch (http://www.ipswitch.com/products/ws_ftp/index.asp).  The program is great.

I will mention one feature that wasn't mentioned above.  You can make/use scripts to automate the download and even schedule these to run automatically.  The script "language" is easy and basically just the FTP commands the program would use.  If you will always be downloading the same types of files from the same directories then setup a script to save time.

Please no points if the extra info isn't helpful.  I don't want to take from the suggestion above just for a "me too" comment. :)  Let me know if you have a question.

You can setup filtering two ways:
1.) You can configure 'per site' setting where the DL setting will be unique to the site you are on
OR
2.) You can configure a 'Global' setting where your filtering will reflect in every site you manage.

To change each one you can:
1.) Click Tools
2.) Click Options
3.) Click Transfers/Extensions
4.) Edit to your liking

You can also change individual site by using the 'Convert Extensions' option in the transfer page located in the site options.

I do not see how the convert extensions only download certain files.  Example .php files only.  from what i see it only converts the extensions when I download the files.

Sorry about that rjohnsonjr. For some reason that section seems to be different in the newest version of FTP Pro. I remember that area being an 'exclusion' or 'inclusion' section.

Either way there is still a way to 'include' and 'exclude'. Just use the Synchronization Task to create a task and then exclude/include the specific files you need to:

1.) Click Tools - Synchronize Files - Add a new synchronize task
2.) Choose Locations
3.) Click Next
4.) Choose Synchronize Mode
5.) Click Next
6.) Check off 'Show files/folders that won't be transferred'
7.) Click Next
8.) Add Inclusions or exclusions (Your actually creating a rule but here are some examples:)

Inclusion rule: /mydir/*.exe
Type: Absolute location
This will include all .exe files in the mydir remote directory, but the path is taken from the root of the remote system.

Inclusion rule:c:\mydir\*.exe
Type: Absolute location
This will include all .exe files in the c:\mydir local directory.

Inclusion rule: /mydir/nextdir/myfil?.*
Type: Absolute location
This will include any file beginning with myfil with one arbitrary character and any extension in the directory /mydir/nextdir.

There's more exmaples in the HELP area. This should solve your problem. I use this task setting to download on *.MP3 songs from my web server to keep my music up to date on my local server.

Sorry for the confusion.
