MySQL has a size limit?

I might get a project that's done in PHP and the database is MySQL.

I work with sql server. We have a database that's 20 GIG.

How about MySQL..can it handle a large load?

The maximum effective table size for MySQL databases is usually determined by operating system constraints on file sizes

how is that split among the tables?

what is the biggest table (size)?
what is the largest table (row count)?

also, how many transactions do you run on the database overall? how many selects? how many non-selects?
also, how many transactions do you run on the "hottest table" overall? how many selects? how many non-selects?

note that MySQL is not the only part to "handle" the load:
* network card
* disks
* RAM
* CPU

their is a technical table size limit, but it is more a row limit, not a size in G of MB
