Failed backup jobs with veritas exec 9.1 on exchange 2003

Windows 2003 Server.  Exchange 2003 Server.  Veritas Backup Exec 9.1
Having problems backing up the exchange mailboxes.  I have about 5 errors in the veritas log that says.
Warning:'\\(exchangeserver)\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes\(User)  Top of information store Inbox (these squar characters)1597 is a corrupt file.
the file cannot verify.
Database or database element is corrupt.

what i was wondering is can how do i locate that file in the exchange database and delete it?  do i have to login as the user and figure out which file it is.

looks like you are doing the brick level back up method rather than the full information store back up as sometimes this causes this type of error

I ran into this problem when i took over my Exchange server at my current job. I spent about 2 weeks trying to stop the error and never succeeded. Running brick level backups are always going to cause problems like this and its best to just back up the information store as a whole.

If you ever need to restore emails or mailboxes you can use the recovery storage group to do this.

Backups run ten times smoother now and are a lot smaller then befor. plus the backups run in a quarter of the time.

That would be my advice on taking care of the issues.
