Is there a setting in Firefox or in some Firefox extension that when I click on an *.exe file on a web page that it just runs it instead of asking if I want to Run, Open or Save As?

I hope not, otherwise you could be tricked into opening an executable file when you were only expecting a standard web page.

Why would you want executable files to run immediately?

    No, there isn't.  From
This is a security precaution to help avoid malicious software getting onto your system or network. Not allowing a program to run directly from an Internet location allows you to make sure that what you are running is indeed what it seems, and to scan the file with anti-virus software if necessary.
