Name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site

I am managing a web site with a URL of www.mysite.net on Windows 2003 server. I installed a SSL certificate with a common name on the certificate of www.mysite.net. If the user types https://www.mysite.net or www.mysite.net in the browser no problems. But if they type https://mysite.net or mysite.net then I get a security alert warning that the NAME ON THE SECURITY CERTIFICATE IS INVALID OR DOES NOT MATCH THE NAME OF THE SITE.

I talked to Verisign about this and they said I can do a URL redirect. But they did not offer any support because they said this is out of their scope. Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

By the way I am using IIS 6.0 to manage the website with.

Thanks

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/6b855a7a-0884-4508-ba95-079f38c77017.mspx?mfr=true

Check out this article from TechNet, more specifically the "To redirect requests to another Web site or directory" content.

You want to add the re-direct from the site mysite.net. If you haven't already setup an additional site for mysite.net, you will want to do that before configuring the re-direct.

Hope this helps....
