Name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site

I am managing a web site with a URL of on Windows 2003 server. I installed a SSL certificate with a common name on the certificate of If the user types or in the browser no problems. But if they type or then I get a security alert warning that the NAME ON THE SECURITY CERTIFICATE IS INVALID OR DOES NOT MATCH THE NAME OF THE SITE.

I talked to Verisign about this and they said I can do a URL redirect. But they did not offer any support because they said this is out of their scope. Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

By the way I am using IIS 6.0 to manage the website with.

    Check out this article from TechNet, more specifically the "To redirect requests to another Web site or directory" content.

    You want to add the re-direct from the site If you haven't already setup an additional site for, you will want to do that before configuring the re-direct.
