Can't manage vista machine in 2003 Domain. Access denied

Last Modified: 2012-06-27
Joined first Vista machine to a 2003 domain with the domain administrator and when trying to manage the PC from the default computers container, I get access denied when highlighting the users and groups(red X on it). WHen clicking on services I get "unable to open service control manager database on computername..."
error 5: acccess denied.

I also tried to disable the firewall locally on the machine, as we don't require the firewall in group policy. Is there some special setup needed to have full control over this machine?
