We have an unknown machine that has a BCP scheduled every night against a table. Is there any way to locate the IP address of the machine that is running the BCP?

    Accepted Solution

start a trace in the profiler:
Start - Programs - Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - Performance tools - SQL Server Profiler

start a new trace, based on the 'blank' template. Then in the evnt selectoin tab, choose the 'audit login' from the 'audit security' events. From there you can retrieve the hostname of any connection made to your SQL Server while the trace was running.

    Hope this helps ...
