Modern start menu has been disabled

In my work computer the modern start menu in Windows  XP has been disabled in the settings, so that I only can use the "classic" start menu. This is a setting that is default at my company of some reason. I guess it's easy to change in the registry, but I don't know how. Does anyone know how to enable the modern start menu? (I'm local admin on my machine.)

If this is done via DOMAIN Policy it will probably change back again...

Check these keys:

User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
Value Name: NoSimpleStartMenu
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (1 = force classic menu, 0 = default)

A lot of times when this happens the Themes service has stopped for some reason...

Right click on My Computer - Manage - double click on Services and Applications - double click on Services - in the right pane look for Themes double click on it, make sure that the service is set to Automatic, and it says that the service is started, if it isn't click on the Start button, and see if it starts...

If this has been set as a company policy you really should not by attempting to change it without the consent of your IT people. If this has been set with a group policy then you won't be able to change it without their co-operation.
