Outlook/exchange mailbox message volume tracking

I look for a solution which tracks inbound and outbound message volume for 70 exchange mailboxes.   So management users know workload for owner of each mailbox.  The mail client is Outlook 2003, maybe 2007 later.  It is a delighter to track mail turn-around-time too. But the solution should not be much less than a quarter million $.

Are any off-shelf solutions out there?  Thanks much,

There are 2 products that i know of, the first is message stats from quest software which is quite expensive.
The other is http://www.promodag.com/ and is quite inexpensive and offers a full suite of exchange reports!

Anymore options on the exchange server side?  Any solution on the client side?  The exchange server holds thousands of mailboxes.

the promodag software works fine on our exchange server with 1000's of mailbox's and as far as i know there is nothing you can easily do on the client side!

Only a handful accounts among thousands need to be tracked and a new accounts need to be added.  Is it easy to achieve with promodag?

There is no way of tracking just those mailboxes. All tracking systems use message tracking which is a feature of Exchange. However that tracks all messages.
What you will have to look at is using third party tools which provide the reports on the mailboxes that you need.

Simon.
