Date/Time Field and Number field values getting changed without reason

I have a table with one record in it that gets updated throughtout the day as users utilize the database.  (Parameters table)

a couple of the fields in the table are Date/Time type fields.  Lately for some unknown reason, the field becomes what I am considering corrupted.  The value of these fields ends up with a value of 12/3/1899 and we are unable to change it.  Also another field that is a simple currancy field should have the value of $9.35 in it all the time but keeps changing on its own to very starange outrageous numbers like $338, 725,564.97!  The only way I can fix this is to recreate the entire table.  But it just keeps happening.

Help...anyone have any ideas?

I suspect corruption due to users accessing/updating the record simultaneously.
The users should not have direct access to the common table.  How does the record currently get updated?

Most of the time through a recordset update.  But in some cases a form's recordsource is this particular table.  What you have stated could be the reason.  I will try an eliminate the simultaneous access.

    Accepted Solution

If users are accessing from a front end, instead of directly accessing the same db, you can set record locking so that users cannot try to simultaneously update a field in the record.
