Connection String for Pass Through Query to Active Directory

What is the ODBC connection string for a pass-through-query to connect to Active Directory?

I've found this template: "Provider=ADSDSOObject;User ID=MyUserID;Password=MyPassword;"

But it doesn't seem to work.

Do you have that provider installed on your system? What specific symptom is telling you it doesn't work?

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/reskit/iisbook/c07_selecting_an_ole_db_provider.mspx?mfr=true

This link tells me that as long as you have ADO 2.0 installed, you should have that provider.

you want your connection string to look something like...
"server=tonydev;database=northwind;uid=ben;pwd=dover"
             "server=server1;database=northwind;trusted_connection=yes"

Turns out I did not have "Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library" reference checked.
