Exchnage servers in same domain/site do not pass messages

Have existing Exchange 2K3 running on Server 2003 that I want to remove (has failing hardware, though server is OK right now).  I installed new server 2K3 box and installed Exchange 2K3 on it.  I moved all mailboxes to new server, but it will not move the public folders.  Also, mail is not flowing between the two servers.  The queues that connect the two servers state they are in retry state...  I probably have an SMTP configuration issue, but I do not see it :(

I need this to be running on Monday so help is apprecaited...

Did you install the new server into the same Exchange organization and email domain as the existing server?  If so, perhaps this article will help you:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931/en-us

If not, you would need to create a SMTP connector to pass mail between the two servers.

Also, if the servers are in two different organizations, you won't be able to replicate the public folders between the two servers.  In that case, probably the easiest way to move the public folders would be to export them to PST's, create new public folders on your new server, and then import the contents from the other public folders into the new ones.

Hmmmm - maybe, if I turned on the POP3 proto to recieve the messages...  OK, mail IS routing... sorry...  Looks like the public folders just went flying through the LAN too.

Sorry, no points today.
