SQL Server 2000  Flat file backup

I have several SQL Databases. Is there a universal way to create flat file backups for these databases? I would like to run nightly jobs as a secondary backup.  I am a SQL novice and we are using SQL 2000.  Thanks!

    yes, just use the maintenance plans to create backups to disk, with a schedule.
