Olaf... It doesn't seem like you need to fix anything.  Those errors occurred back in March and they don't seem to have repeated since then.

Is there something specific that is occuring on the server that you think may need attention?

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for responding.
Feel stupid for not checking the date. Sorry.
This is a new server I took over. Specs are good with Dual Xeon 3.0Ghz proc, Raid 10 HDD system (Sata), SBS 2003 patched to R2, 25 users ( 8 xremote),DSL2+ on Nic2. (Now 4Gb Ram)
CSM for SMB 3.6 : no virus found.
Only XP clients.
Server seems to just hang for a few seconds at the time. Processors never go above 20%.
I did hardware tests: all OK.
Added 2GB ram, changed page file, trottled MSQL and Wsus for Ram usage but an still getting allocated memory messages. Ram usage however has never exceeded the 2Gb mark.
These guys are big data users and CPU usage is 47% for BU only. Takes 12 hours a day. I am convincing them to cahnge that.
They are also big email users. Every user still has 1GB mailboxes and they cleanup every week.
Best practices in Exchange only comes up with <50ms seek times on HDD and is OK for anything else.
I am just trying to make this box run a bit more efficiently.
I think this must have been a swing migration because admin can't get to companyweb but a newly created admin can. I've only ever seen that after doing a swing.
Any idea's?

Do you have all the proper AV Exclusions?

Plus all the TrendMicro Folders.

Yep I always install my Trend product the Wayne Small way. I actually reinstalled CSM for SMB on this server a couple of weeks ago.
I used the Susanne methodology (as I always do) to trottle those services but will double check my values?
Olaf
PS I really think this is a Raid problem but that's just a gut feeling.

Actually that's fairly likely... a RAID 10 is a bit strange for an SBS install.  You really would be better off breaking those out to a 2 disk RAID1 + the remainder as a RAID5... depending on how many disks you have to begin with.

Only got 4 disks in the raid.

Well, then for sure I'd switch it to a RAID 5, and just go with that.

Hi Jeff,

Overnight I restored this server to a simple SATA 10K RPM Sata HDD. Performance issues are still there. I guess that excludes my raid theory.
Am running the new SBS best practices now: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3874527a-de19-49bb-800f-352f3b6f2922&DisplayLang=en
Will let you know.

As always you're way ahead :).
Only server problem found: Task Offloading is enabled. Fixed that now.
See what happens.
Thanks for your time.

No change. Server is usable so I'll keep monitoring. Will move exchange to it's own 10k drive.
Thanks for the time.
Do you take students. Asking for me personally.
