calculate subtotal of unsuppressed section

I am using crystal reports 10, and have question about calculating subtotal. the subtotal is for adding a field called amount in detail section. a suppress condition is added to the detail section. I only want the subtotal addup the amount that is not suppressed.

    You can use a running totals field - that will exclude the suppressed items.

    Agree, if you need to exclude values that get suppressed then you need to use a running total that executes only when the value is visible or build your own subtotals using formulas and global variables.
