Laptop Memory Compatibility

Hello.

I have a laptop sony model  VGN-FE650FM which comos with two 512 MB modules. These modules have the next label on it:

Hynix 512MB 2Rx16 PC2-4200S-444-12   HYMPS64S64BP6-C4 AB 0628

I want to know if these modules can be used with another laptopToshiba model Satellite 1800-S274. This laptop is from 2002 or something like that. Currently this laptop has one 256 MB module installed.

I want to change the 512 MB modules of the SONY for two 1GB modules, so the 512 MB memories will have no use for me and want to see if I can use  them with the Toshiba.

Please write a short explanation of the reazon why they can or can't be used with the Toshiba Laptop.

The memory will not work. The Sony uses DDR2 memory, the Toshiba uses much older Sdram PC100 memory.

Not only will the memory not work; but the Toshiba does not support modules larger than 256mb ==> so the best you can do for that laptop is buy one more 256mb module ... such as one of these:  http://www.4allmemory.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=search.memorySearch&manufacturer_id=77&model_id=25550&submit=Find+Memory
