How to get past "Loading VMKernel mptscsi_2xx" error?

Hello, I've managed to install ESX 3.02 on our box here which is running an Asus K4ND16/SAS and an Opteron 2212 Processor with 4GB of memory. We also installed a PCI-X LSILOGIC SAS3041X-R controller which is on the HCL. We were finally able to install ESX and now when booting the process stops at "Loading VMKernel mptscsi_2xx". When I do ALT-F12 I have "CPU0: 1032)<4> mptbase: Initiating ioc0 bringup. This is under the Fusion MPT base driver section. This problem has been driving my up the walls for the better part of two weeks now. I haven't yet found anything useful on the web. Any help would be great! Thanks!

BIOS up to date on all components?
Try typing debug at the boot menu.

65td, all that was required was passing "noapic" to the kernel on bootup. This fixed all my troubles.
