Other Authentication Options for IIS 6.0?

Our development group would like to deploy a small IIS 6.0 server as an extranet host. Is it possible to use an authentication system other than active directory with this system? Can anyone recommend an alternative that we can plug-in to IIS through the regular security mechanism for web sites?

    Accepted Solution

If you would like to authenticate your web users then authentication done in ASP is probably the way to go:

You can complicate things as much as you like - different users can have different access permissions etc.
