I am trying to FTP a file in VB 6.0 to a mainframe.  I have used the FtpPutFile function for windows files, but how do I use it to send FILETYPE, RECFM, LRECL, BLKSIZE requirements for ftping to a mainframe.

That post shows someone else who is having the same problem.

The problem is sending other FTP commands that are not supported by Inet.

I would like to recommend XceedFTP.  Its a third party ActiveX, but It works great and will enable to you send other commands.

It's not cheap but it works good.

In my previous post, I recommended XceedFTP, but if you just want to use standard command line ftp you can set the commands using a site command

    example command line ftp commands

    open mymainframeip
    quote site lrecl=80 blocksize=0  refcm=FB filetype=jes
    put myjcl.txt

This will result in the JCL being submitted directly to the JES reader and the mainframe ftp server will return back the JES Job name and Jes Job number.

You could also use the ws-ftp sdk.  Here is a link with some sample VB code.
