Error messages when sending as an attachment to Outlook

Vista Business
Outlook 2007 - Exchange
Office 2003 without Outlook

When I try and send something as an attachment I receive error messages.  The message is different depending on the sending program. Example: If I try and send a capture using Vista's Snipping Tool I get the following error "The snip could not be sent. Check that an email program is installed and try again". If I try and send via an attachment through Word and Excel I get this error "Word couldn't send because of MAPI failure: "Unspecified error".

Do you know what could be causing these errors and how to fix them?

Make sure that Outlook 2007 is set to be the default email application in default programs.

You might also try doing the send with outlook closed.  Apparently, there are issues if outlook is open when you execute the command.

I have tried both setting Outlook to the default mail program and trying when it's closed. I still get the same errors.

Turn off the UAC, and try again.

Also check the IE settings, lower the security level temporarily.

I hope this helps !
