Notes: Folder missing after archiving.

In my company mail capacity is 100MB

My mail database swell to 300MB

I got my Notes mail capped, so I could not send mails.

I deleted all unnecessary mails from Sent,Junk Mail, Trash folders, but the cap was not removed.

I called the engineer to archive my mails.

He archived the mails as a result under Tools->Archive option I get the Archive File.

On selecting the archive a new page is displayed having a similar view as normally notes have.

In Mail archive under folders I am able to see all folders except folder where I keep my project mails.

Why wern't my project mails archived and kept in Folders option of Mail Archive?

In the Mail page I had to create my project folder again.

The support engineer did not delete my project folder. It seems to have got lost while archiving.

It depends on the version of Notes you had, when you created the mail archive folders.

It could also be a corrupt folder structure in your mail DB.

I would have the Nots admin do a Compact -c for your Mail DB on the server.

Is it working OK now ?

I hope this helps !

Archive only creates folders when it archives a message in that fodler.  If the archive process ahppened to not archive any messages that were in that folder, then you would not see this folder in the archive.

Search the All Documents view to see if you can find any documents that were in the projects folder.  If there are any, then something went wrong in the archive process.  if there are none, then you have your answer, and you can go back and figure out why project documents were not archived at all.

In mail archive page, I found "project folder" documents in Views->All Documents.'
But I am not sure If they are all the files I had kept there.

I can also see sent mails.

What might have gone wrong during archiving?

In archive page, Can I create a new "project" folder and get these documents back under "folders->project"?

The support engineer just created a new folder in the archive page and copied all the mails into it.

So the problem is solved.
So, the support engineer did the same thing I suggested?
