Server free backup with Backup Exec

Hi

I am looking to use the server free option in veritas backup exec to speed up the ever increasing overhead of backup processing.  I want to backup my SAN shared data directly onto the Tape device without using the resources of the media server.

I am using backup exec version 10d with an IBM DS4300 SAN and an HP Tape device.

I am really just looking for advice on this to see if it is possible to use this functionality with this SAN.

Has anyone implemented this and is it worth me using?

Never implemented it but it's done by the Crossroads storage router that HP use in their tape libraries, which library / router do you have?

We have an overland tape library and an HP LTO2 tape device
Which overland library and which storage router connects it to the SAN? I presume the HP tape drive is inside this library.
the neo 2000 but no storage router I was thinkig I could go straight into a fibre switch as the neo connectivity is fc
The fibre channel option in the NEO supports it, see chapter 9 of the FCO installation guide at http://support.overlandstorage.com/jive/servlet/KbServlet/download/4106-102-965/104254-105_A.pdf

Not sure who makes the fibre to SCSI bridge in the NEOs.
Do you know if the SAN supports the extended copy function?
